Iulia Felix, a shipwreck dating back to Roman times, was discovered in the late 1980s, and it is likely to be the most eye-catching exhibit at Museo Nazionale dell´Archeologia Subacquea (National Museum of Underwater Archaeology). The history of how this shipwreck was discovered and of the efforts to move and shelter it into an environment suited for preservation has its difficulties has its episodes, but the bottom line is the ship is a trace of the Roman world with all its magnificence.
